A lot of candidates talk about change. But, we rarely see positive, social change happen and when we do it is often drastically overdue or wrapped in so much bureaucracy that its effect is muted. Sure, there are new cabinets, policies, judges and laws, but still, life goes on pretty much the same from one candidate to the next.

 

Maybe change cannot be voted in. Maybe it is not legislated. Maybe it does not happen through policies and its stream does not flow from Capitol Hill. Perhaps true, lasting change emerges from the hearts of the people. That is what Jesus taught and advocated.

In the midst of political chaos and social inequality Jesus ran on a platform where people did not just lobby for change, they became the change.

On a mountainside 2,000 years ago Jesus taught that true change will emerge when we hunger and thirst not for wealth but for righteousness, when we long not for power but for peace, when we seek reconciliation not revenge and when we love others more than ourselves.

 

This fall we are talking about a new platform, a new set of issues, a new way to live.  It is a radical ideology that was founded on loving loudly and recklessly pursues hope.

Beginning August 9th & 10th we invite you to join a grassroots movement of people who are tired of lobbying for change, tired of watching social injustice happen in our own backyard and around the world.  This fall we invite you to join with us and become the change.
